In 2021, the international online magazine Time Out published a list of the 49 coolest neighbourhoods in the world, including among others Sagene. What makes this area so unique?

In this photo exhibition, locals have been asked why they think Sagene was nominated for this list. Which areas, buildings, and places make Sagene one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world?

The exhibition has two parts. Part one can be seen outdoors at Sagene. This part is moved around to different locations in the area. Part two can be seen at Gråbeinsletta from 16 November, parts of it are also shown inside the Labour Museum.

Labour Museum

The Labour Museum is set in idyllic surroundings, in the former industrial area by the Akerselva river. Here, you can experience Oslo’s labour history and learn about the industrial adventure that unfolded along the river.

Your visit to the museum can be combined with a visit to our pleasant gift shop, and a cup of coffee with a Norwegian waffle at the cultural café Hønse-Lovisas hus.
